About Us

Our Mission

The Mission of the Oklahoma City Foundation for Architecture is to promote excellence in our built environment through education, recognition and preservation.

The Oklahoma City Foundation for Architecture was created in 1999 and has had tremendous success with our events, programs, and projects.

1200 North Robinson

The Oklahoma City Foundation for Architecture purchased, secured and saved the old Church of Christ Scientist building located at 1200 N. Robinson. We were also successful in placing this building on the National Register of Historic Places.

Celebrate 100: An Architectural Guide to Central Oklahoma

The Oklahoma City Foundation for Architecture teamed with the American Institute of Architects, Central Oklahoma Chapter to publish a guide to architecture of the past 100 years in central Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma City Foundation for Architecture is always working to preserve the history of Central Oklahoma and supports the preservation of architecture in our community.

KIDesign is an introduction to architecture and design in the world around us. Upon request we can go into your school to help teach 4th and 5th graders about architecture. They will participate in various activities as they learn, create, and design their own projects with members of the local architectural community.

OKLAHOMANMADE Photography Competition

OKLAHOMANMADE is an annual photography competition open to everyone. Images must be located in Oklahoma and must be man-made. This competition is done on Instagram each April.

Endowment Fund

The Oklahoma City Foundation for Architecture has an endowment fund with the Oklahoma City Community Foundation.

Digital Repository for Architectural data

In 2016, the Oklahoma City Foundation for Architecture (OCFA) identified the pressing need to save often rapidly deteriorating and poorly stored original blueprints of some of Central Oklahoma's most historic and significant buildings in a manner that would preserve them for generations. While it was impossible to permanently obtain so many building documents and store them properly, the group set out to locate, collect, and scan as many sets of plans and renderings as possible and save them digitally. As a result of these efforts, the OCFA obtained a generous grant from the Kirkpatrick Foundation and began to create the Architectural Digital Archives, an easy-to-use, searchable database in which architects and the general public have free access to some of our state's rarely seen and most important pieces of history.

Quarterly Tours

Each quarter the Oklahoma City Foundation for Architecture hosts a quarterly tour that showcases architecture.

Oklahoma Modernism Weekend

The Oklahoma City Foundation for Architecture works hand in hand with Okie Mod Squad to bring Modernism Weekend to the community each June. This weekend brings forward all things modern. The weekend includes an opening party, a MOD Swap and a MOD Home Tour.

Buildings + Brews

This program brings together architecture and local brews! Join us for a tour of a local brewery or in some cases we will bring the brews to the architecture and host a tour of a piece of architecture while showcasing the brews of a local brewery.

Drinks X Design

Join us each fall for a progressive party of local architects offices or a project by an architect. Attendees hop on a bus and enjoy food, drink and design at four locations.

Scholarship Program

The Oklahoma City Foundation for Architecture awards two scholarships annually – each worth $1,000 to a professional degree-track student at The University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University.
